OUROBOROS
Ouroboros, the snake with it’s tail in it’s mouth, is a symbol for infinity, and the cycles of rebirth and regeneration. It is a Gnostic symbol associated with the God, Abraxsis: The Lord of Darkness and Light. This one encompasses a pentacle, the five-pointed star that symbolizes the five elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. Together, the Ouroboros and the Pentacle stand for the oneness of all things through the infinite cycles of time.
The Pentacle is a schematic map of the Cosmos. Its five points stand for the four elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, and the fifth element, Consciousness. They also stand for the Four directions, and the center, the place where you are. The Pentacle is one of the oldest symbols in the Western world. It is still revered as a sign of witchcraft, the first of all the healing arts.
